Had a night out with Gine today...it was just a simple dinner of mussels, dessert, coffee n some beer/wine... for the quality and amount we had the bill was quite ridiculous. $91 just for medicore quality and portions. The taxi fare home was just as ridiculous.
Cost of living in Singapore is really getting quite out of hand. You now pay more for poorer quality and for very often pathetic portions.
A no frills chill out night out including taxi to & fro would set you back more than a hundred bucks.....in the not too distant past, $100+ used to be able to get you a nice meal with wine in a fancy restaurant.
Gine and i were just comparing the prices of day to day groceries like milo, milk, butter etc...and we realised that in just over 1 year, prices have gone up by more than 100%! If our ministers are STILL DEBATING whether Singapore's inflation is a concern, they seriously either:
(1) got their heads stuck in the clouds
or
(2) their last pay rise was so hefty that they just don't feel the pinch.
or
(3) they've not stepped into a supermarket in a long long long time
or
(4) they got nothing else to debate about in parliament
Chances are, it's probably a combination of all of the above
Things are getting too damn expensive in singapore...*grumble*

we should ask if they charge cockage next time so that we can bring our own drinks. haha!
